Tuesday Link Dump: Adios A.J. Benza, The Black Book, and Economic Donkeys

How about some links to kill time today? The topics vary from the WSOP, economics, politics, high school athletics, Halloween, Las Vegas cheats, and even a bit of seedy Hollywood...

A.J. Benza will no longer be the host of High Stakes Poker on the Game Show Network. I got the tip from Pokerati and read Benza's blog where he did not pull any punches and gave his side of the story on why he was yanked as Gabe Kaplan's side kick for HSP. I thought those two were the best combo not named Mike and Vince. Sad to see him go, but that's what happens when Hollywood meets the poker industry. (Benza... Neat)

Island Football is a story about the end of a historic rivalry between two football teams located on Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard. (Wall Street Journal)

After much ado, Robert finally posted his final installment of his stellar recap of playing in the World Series of Poker. Check out... One Lottery Ticket Please Part VI. (The Vegas Year)

I love to watch lawyers squirm, especially the counsel for the Fed getting grilled by Congress during one of those dog and pony shows. And yes, I wonder if the Fed really does manipulate the stock and futures market? (Deal Breaker)

Speaking of those wizards on Wall Street, a couple of British business writers penned Economic Donkeys. It's an interest perspective on American banking woes from the other side of the pond. (Base Line Scenario)

What about the Black Book? Yeah, the Black Book actually exists but the philosophy has changed over the years. Vegas used to ban mafia guys. These days it's high tech cheats who are on the mythical list. Too bad we don't have one of those for poker. Big old fat Russ would be at the top of the list. (Las Vegas Sun)

Flipchip took photos of Haunted Houses. (LasVegasVegas.com)

In case you missed my Sunday column, this week's topic includes a little explanation on why I have been obsessed with watching online poker including that bust called The durrrr Challenge. Check out... The Watchers. (Poker News)
That's it for now. Have a great day. I'll be back tomorrow with a recap of ESPN's coverage of the Main Event.
