Tuesday Link Dump: $127 Million Loser, The Poker Grub, Shaun Deeb, and Shamus Book Reviews

Here's a few things to munch on...
Well, you think you had a bad trip to Vegas? How about the dude who squandered $127 million at Caesar's Palace and the Rio. Terrance Wantabe is the king of crazy Asian gamblers as he posted the largest one-year loss in the history of Vegas. According to a Wall Street journal article, Wantabe's losses made up for 5.6% of Harrah's revenue for the year. But Wantabe claims shennanigans... that they unfairly allowed him to gamble when he was shitfaced and that the casino supplied him with drugs and hookers too keep his bender going. Yikes. (Wall Street Journal)

Shaun Deeb retired from poker. Well, not exactly. But he's laying off the grind of online MTTs. He spoke with Benjo, who posted a fantastic interview with Shaun Deeb. You can read the Shaun Deeb interview here.... but be warned, it is written entirely into French. (Las Vegas... Off the Record)

These guys have a different take on Shaun Deeb... Shaun Deen 'Burns Out' of Insulting Opponents. (The Melted Felt)

Shamus is an exceptional scribe but he's also an avid reader. He's read too books on my "To Read" list that I hope to get to in early 2010. You should check out Shamus' reviews of Doyle Brunson's autobiography Confessions and Victoria Coren's For Richer, For Poorer: A Love Affair With Poker. (Hard-Boiled Poker)

Grubby is one of my favorite writers. He can weave a story like no other. He recently penned three posts that made me laugh and cry. Must reads.... Don't Wear White to a Strip Club, Las Vegas by the Numbers, and lastly... Consequences. (The Poker Grub)

Flipchip has been busy in Las Vegas snapping photos of the Christmas decorations at the Bellagio Conservatory and he was over at the opening of the City Center's Hotel VDara. (Las Vegas Vegas)

I had an interesting 24-hour bender in Charlottesville on Saturday. (Coventry)
That's it for now. Hope you have a good day.
